mount freedom cabins
baron
Welcome to Baron, our most remote cabin, which offers spectacular views of Ailsa Craig and Northern Ireland.
the baron cabin
Nestled on the woodland’s edge, Baron’s sea views from the outdoor bath and fireplace make for an idyllic, indulgent getaway. Named after a legendary horse (the Baron of Buchlyvie – a Clyesdale who lived at Dunure Mains) Baron was designed as half luxury chalet, half cosy Scottish bolthole. Bask in peace and privacy as you gaze at panoramic sea views from the outdoor bath, sheltered from the elements by a long veranda. Enjoy a dram from a nearby distillery, toasted marshmallows, or both, as you recline in an Adirondack chair before the warmth of the crackling outdoor fireplace. And if you decide to stretch out on the leather sofa in front of the log burner, or recline on your king-sized bed, you’ll still be able to see the sea.
Head straight from the cabins to the rugged coastal path and pristine beaches of Dunure, take a stroll round the harbour, pick up fresh fish and seafood caught by local fisherman, boat trip to the Isle of Arran – or just enjoy a leisurely dram in a hot bath, surrounded by larch forest and wildlife. Baron is our most remote cabin, and furthest from the parking area.

What a fabulous break. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. The cabin was tucked away in a lovely spot with the most amazing views, especially on an evening the sunsets were amazing! The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed. A lot of thought has gone into stocking the cabin from marshmallows, oil and the basics to the luxury of the Prosecco, bath robes and toiletries that were supplied. The Log burner kept us nice and cosy on an evening and Jake made sure we had enough wood to keep us going. The outdoor bath was lovely and deep and real treat to use whilst the sun was setting. Thank you Jake you were the perfect host.
